On Friday, Gov. Deal will deliver on his promise to end the Ga. 400 toll.
"Ga. 400's extension has contributed to Georgia's economic growth for more than two decades, and the tolls allowed the state's bond debts to be repaid," Deal said. "Now it is time for toll collection to come to an end. In 2012, I promised this would happen by the end of 2013 and, as governor, I keep the promises I make to the people of this state. Friday's event is a testament to that."

150 jobs to Harris County
Gov. Deal announced Tuesday that KOPLA, a Korean-based automotive manufacturer, will open its first U.S.-based manufacturing facility in West Point, creating 150 jobs and investing $15 million by 2018.
"We are proud that Korea's presence in our state continues to grow," said Deal. "Our booming automotive industry and key business resources create a perfect location for KOPLA and we have no doubt that this stateof-the-art automotive manufacturer will continue to
______ succeed."
Deal dubious of federal promises
On Friday, Gov. Deal talked about the high costs and broken promises of Obamacare with Neil Cavuto on Fox News.
"Promises have already been broken," Deal said. "...The promise that expanded Medicaid will never go below a 90 percent federal reimbursement, how do we have any confidence that promise is any more keepable by the White House than the promise that `if you like your health insurance, you could keep it?'"

First Lady lauds new center that aids families
First Lady Sandra Deal last week participated in the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Supporting Adoption and Foster Families Together (SAFFT) program's new facility in Cumming. SAFFT is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to supporting foster and adoptive children, their caregivers and the entire family during crisis. The new Family Life Center offers services such as parenting classes, case management and supervised visitation.

Deal welcomes new UGA leader
On Tuesday, Gov. Deal participated in the investiture ceremony for the University of Georgia's new president, Jere Morehead.
"President Morehead has a lot to offer this institution," Deal said. "He has dedicated himself to this school, its success and the success of its students. He is the right man for the job, and I am confident time will prove that true. I wish him all the best in his new role and look forward to working with him in the

Deals announce Day of Service
Gov. Deal and First Lady Sandra Deal this week announced that the 3rd Annual Servant's Heart, a Statewide Day of Service, will be held on Dec.7. The Governor and First Lady ask that all Georgians join together as one community through local service projects in an effort to better our state and help those less fortunate. AAA rating pays off
Gov. Deal announced last week that the state of Georgia successfully sold $173 million in general obligation bonds to fund new construction projects and to make repairs and renovations to existing facilities throughout the state.
"These bonds were sold at very low rates given current market conditions and that translates into savings for Georgia's citizens," Deal said. "The state's AAA bond ratings enable us to invest in vital infrastructure around the state in a fiscally responsible
_______ manner."
Financial reporting earns award
Gov. Deal announced last week that Georgia's comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR) for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2012, qualifies for a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
