Savannah Technical College participates in Solar for Schools Program 
Savannah Tech received a $233,000 matching grant for students to gain experience in the solar industry. Students will use the knowledge they acquire in the classroom and apply it to installing solar projects on campus.

Tax return checkoff donation supports land conservation in Georgia 
Conservation-minded Georgians wanting to help preserve the state's natural resources have the opportunity to donate to the Georgia Land Conservation Program through their 2016 state income tax forms.

Communities receive financing for environmental infrastructure 
The GEFA board of directors awarded 12 communities $26,145,000 for environmental projects during its November meeting. Nine communities received Drinking Water State Revolving Fund loans, two communities received Clean Water State Revolving Fund loans, and one community received a Georgia Fund loan.

Pat Wilson, commissioner of the Georgia Department of Economic Development (replaced Chris Carr who was appointed attorney general) GEFA welcomed a new employee to our team. David Austin, senior program manager in the Water Resources Division GEFA has nothing but well wishes for three staff members who recently retired. Kevin North, IT Division director Dave Raney, senior environmental engineer in the Water Resources Division Tom Roos, environmental engineer in the Water Resources Division
