State Board of Education to hold called meeting May 25 MEDIA CONTACT: Meghan Frick, mfrick@doe.k12.ga.us, (404) 463-4246 May 24, 2017  The State Board of Education will hold a called Board meeting, via conference call, on Thursday, May 25, 2017, at 11:30 a.m. in the State Board Room, 2070 Twin Towers East, Atlanta, Georgia 30334. The purpose of the meeting is to consider affirming the State Charter Schools Commission's approval of a state charter for the International Academy of Smyrna. Additionally, the State Board will consider the authorization for the State School Superintendent to sign and submit a set of assurances to the U.S. Department of Education in order to receive Federal fiscal year 2017 funding allocations.
