House Bill (HB) 214, a Bill to make the Division of Public Health a separate Department, sailed smoothly through the House and the Senate. Hats Off to DCH during Public Employee Recognition Week 
Employees are the lifeblood of the Georgia Department of Community Health (DCH) and this week has been designated Public Employee Recognition Week. From May 2-6, it's a chance to recognize each employee for riding out the past three years of recession. Employees have continued to be dedicated and committed in service to the public, in spite of salary and hiring freezes and other challenges. A Tasty Celebration by Design 
 
 On April 27, 2011, the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) program held their Town Hall Meeting to build morale and to celebrate team accomplishments. One of the many accomplishments was the adoption of the new MCH and WIC (Women, Infants and Children) logos. Brian Castrucci, MCH Program Director, ordered a special cake with the new MCH branded identity for the occasion. Read more
