The market tone for next week's trading is steady to firm and live supply is adequate for a good to normal demand. Average weights are mostly desirable with a steady price trend. Estimated slaughter today and Monday is 8,146,100 head. Estimated slaughter last Monday and Tuesday was 9,206,000 head. The f.o.b. dock confirmed final weighted average prices on parts were: line run tenders $1.90 (based on 1,705,000 lbs.); skinless boneless breasts $1.65 (based on 7,258,000 lbs.); whole breasts $1.05 (based on 1,418,000 lbs.); boneless skinless thigh meat $1.3750 (based on 1,231,000 lbs.); thighs 73.50 (based on 1,327,000 lbs.); drumsticks 72.50 (based on 1,357,000 lbs.); leg quarters 54.00 (based on 9,374,000 lbs.); and wings $1.99 (based on 3,783,000 lbs.). Cooler inventories and supplies on all parts are balanced; with a demand ranging balanced to good; occasionally very good. Price trend on all parts is mostly firm to weak, occasionally steady. 23 JANUARY 2012 WEDNESDAY The Georgia f.o.b. dock quoted price on broilers and fryers for next week's trading advanced .25 to 99.50 based on full truck load lots of ice pack USDA grade "A" sized 2 to 3 pound birds. The market is firm to steady and the live supply is adequate to short for a good to normal demand. Average weights are mostly desirable. Estimated slaughter today is 4,688,900 head. This compares with 4,741,100 head last Wednesday. The f.o.b. dock quoted prices on ice pack parts based on truck load and pool truck load lots for next week's trading are: line run tenders $1.8650; skinless boneless breasts $1.60; whole breasts $1.05; boneless skinless thigh meat $1.3550; thighs 71.50; drumsticks 64.50; leg quarters 54.00; and wings $2.0150. The market is firm to steady to firm and the live supply is adequate to short for a good to normal demand. Average weights are mostly desirable but are heavier than desired in a few instances. Estimated slaughter today and Saturday is 4,981,700 head. This compares with 5,544,700 head last Friday and Saturday. The f.o.b. dock confirmed preliminary weighted average prices on ice pack parts based on truck load and pool truck load lots for this week's trading are: line run tenders $1.92 (based on 1,572,000 lbs.); skinless boneless breasts $1.66 (based on 6,697,000 lbs.); whole breasts $1.05 (based on 1,207,000 lbs.); boneless skinless thigh meat $1.36 (based on 1,084,000 lbs.); thighs 73.50 (based on 1,327,000 lbs.); drumsticks 71.50 (based on 1,167,000 lbs.); leg quarters 53.50 (based on 8,627,000 lbs.); and wings $1.9950 (based on 3,411,000 lbs.). Trading on heavy breeder type hens is normal. Estimated hen slaughter numbers for the week ending today are 199,275 head. Estimated hen slaughter for the corresponding week a year ago was 316,600 head. *Estimated total slaughter for the week ending today and Saturday for broilers and fryers is 22,604,300 head.
