APRIL 27,1990 FRIDAY The Georgia f.o.b. dock quoted price on broilers and fryers for this week's trading is 52.25 based on full truck load lots of ice pack USDA grade "A" sized 2~ to 3 pound birds. 51% (representing 445 loads) of the loads offered have been confirmed within a range of 44.50 to 55.05 with a preliminary weighted average of 51.64 f.o.b. dock or equivalent. The market is generally moderate and the live supply is adequate for a normal to light, mostly normal demand. Average weights are mostly desirable. Estimated slaughter today is 2,861,500 head. This compares with 3,084,600 head last Friday. The f.o.b. dock confirmed preliminary weighted average prices on ice pack parts based on truck load and pool truck load lots for this week's trading are: skinless boneless breasts $2.13 (based on 1,589,000 lbs.); whole breasts 94.00 (based on 3,513,000 lbs.) leg quarters 33.00 (based on 5,227,000 lbs.); and wings 52.00 (based on 1,608,000 lbs.). Demand on all parts occasionally ranges light to very good, mostly normal to good; with the exception of leg quarters which is very good to normal, mostly good. ~rading on heavy breeder type hens was fair. The market is generally steady to somewhat weak with offerings fully ample for a continued slow demand. Estimated slaughter for the week ending today is 92,800 head. This compares with 86,900 head the same time a year ago. Prices paid at farm on 7 pounds and over for this week's slaughter were 16.00 to l6.50, mostly 16.50. The projected slaughter for next week is 46,200 head. Negotiated prices for next week's slaughter are l5.00 to l6.00, mostly l6.00. ESTIMATED SLAUGHTER FOR THE WEEK ENDING TODAY: Broilers and fryers are 15,227,700 head. This compares with 15,153,700 head of broilers and fryers for the corresponding week a year ago.
