An estimated 31,239,000 broiler type eggs were set by Georgia hatcheries--slightly more than the previous week and 1 percent more than the comparable week a year earlier. Placement ofbroiler chicks in the 15 reporting States totaled 141 ,612,000---slightly less than the previous week and 1 percent less than the comparable week last year. Broiler type hatching eggs set were 177,822,000--slightly more than the previous week and 1 percent more than the corresponding week a year earlier. Average hatchability for chicks hatched during the week was 82 percent. Average hatchability is calculated by dividing chicks hatched during the week by eggs set three weeks earlier.
