Results from this important study are used by Federal Reserve Banks, Department of Commerce, and others because it is the best information available on the economic health of rural America. Results help determine disaster relief and funding for direct payments. This study will also provide the most current snapshot of the economic health of American agriculture while Congress finalizes the Farm Bill. During this same time period will be a special Tri-State Peanut Cost of Production Survey. The purpose of the survey is to determine the cost of production for the 2001 peanut crop within certain parameters such as location, farm size, and production practices. This project is funded by the National Peanut Board through the Southeast Peanut Research Initiative and will be conducted in Alabama, Florida and Georgia. The data will be used to evaluate peanut competitiveness in the Southeast and provide representative information for cost analyses. All information collected for the ARMS and Tri-State Peanut Cost of Production Survey is governed by strict confidentiality laws and is NOT DISCLOSED TO ANY OUTSIDE SOURCE. Also, please take the time to use your records so the most accurate data are available and the time needed to complete the surveys are at a minimum.
