The harvest season for the carrots, which are grown in the same region of the state famous for the Vidalia onion, lasts from mid-January to mid-April. Commissioner Irvin is urging Georgia's consumers to begin asking their grocers for fresh Georgia Sweet CarrotsTM during that time. Georgia Sweet CarrotsTM are marketed under a variety of trademarks, including a sweet carrot marketed as Vidalia's Pride, but Commissioner Irvin said consumers can look for the "Georgia: Always in Good Taste" label to be sure they are buying the unique Georgia Sweet CarrotTM.
