Johnson, Head Extension Agronomy Department In 1958, the Georgia Cooperative Extension Service formu- lated a state program, "What Can Be Done." This program was revised in 1965 with goals set for 1970. This program is paying dividends on farms and in agribusiness in Georgia. The total value of the principal crops grown in the state has increased from $380.6 million in 1966 to $461 million in 1967. This 21 per cent increase is keeping Georgia's Billion Dollar Agriculture booming. Well-planned programs in $112 million. Varieties are now available that will produce the kind of quality needed by Georgia textile mills. These programs are supported by agribusiness in Georgia. Agribusiness reaps the benefits of this increased income as well as do the farm people of Georgia. Peanuts produced 24.3 per cent of 1967 crop value, followed by tobacco with 21.6 per cent and corn with 21.4 per cent. Cotton lint and seed produced 7.2 per cent, followed by soybeans with 6.9 per cent. PER A.
