Farmers ll A UlieTIn | Commissioner ATLANTA, GEORGIA, WEDNESDAY, MAY 16, 1962 NUMBER 39 - Georgias Hog Cholera _ Eradication Program a Is Underway! Dodge and Bleckley Counties, C First To Qualify The recently initiated Georgia Hog Cholera Eradication Program is already having results and reaping benefits for the Georgia hog growers. Two counties, Dodge and Bleckley, qualified as eradication areas within _ three wecks after the program was officially begun. SS Farmers in these two counties that have signed agreements with the state, and any other counties which qualify for the program, will now get financial as- sistance from the state for any hogs lost because of cholera. * * * In order to qualify as a cholera eradication area, counties should take the following steps: 1. Organize county hog cholera eradication committee. 2. Bring county level of vaccination to 60 percent of the county swine population. - 3. Through county commissioners, enter into agreement with the State De- partment of Agriculture to have the county declared a hog cholera eradication area. : Begin NOW To Get Your a County Qualified Help Rid Georgia Of Hog Cholera Georgia First @ BROILERS @ PROTECTED FOREST LANDS @ PIMENTO PEPPER @ PEANUTS @ IMPROVED PECANS _@ NAVAL STORES oe Q - Georgia EMPIRE STATE OF THE SOUTH PAGE TWO MARKET BULLETIN GEORGIA MARKET BULLETIN State Agriculture Building Editorial and Executive Offices ig Hunter Street, S. In case of death, an autopsy should be performed to determine whether death was caused by a disease or a toxic substance. Otherwise, the chemis- try laboratory may run numerous tests and still not hit on the In addition to the veterinary report, the feed guarantee tag should always be enclosed with the sample. n there are yarious drugs added which are toxic if white PAGE SIX MARKET BULLETIN. | Bobwhite quail, breeders} 30-40 nice laying hens, $1.
