FARM TOM LINDER Sees LAND EDITION COMMISSIONER WEDNESDAY, MARCH 24, 1948, NUMBER 28. Prior to, during and shortly after Vorld . Wat One, the farmers of this ountry experienced their most profit- years. uring the full term of President y Roosevelt, Congress enacted the ; rman anti-Trust Laws, which were 2 gned to break down trusts and com- < in restraint of trade. These laws intended to force competition in ess and industry thre same as in ag- ture. Ee sport of Teddy Roosevelt. he prosecution: by the Federal Gov- srument of some of the trusts under the | man Trust Laws resulted in a fine 29 million dollars against the ndard Oil Company, Other prose- ns resulted in punishment to other combines. der the Sherman anti-Trust Laws the Standard Oil Company was broken Jown into anumber of smaller corpora- tions. such as Standard Oil Company of | New Jersey, Standard Oil Company of Dhio and Standard Oil Company of Kentucky, etc. What had been a nation-wide trust in oil was divided into a number of smaller businesses and other large corporate in- terests were also forced to divide into smaller groups, . thereby creating com- petition in the different lines of busi- ness and industry. The result of this break-down of giant trusts was to give the law of sup- ply and demand and the law of competi- tion a chanee to operate. The result Was that, during the years of the Taft. Administration, industry, business and agriculture were more nearly equalized with each other than at any other time: Ti was for this reason that the Con- gress in 1933, elected to take the four i. ; of the Taft Administration as the ase period from which to figure parity on agriculiural produets, t is very important, therefore, for the farmers to understand the reason Why these years were selected as the Pe period, and also why the parity has failed to work out in practice because of changing conditions from the base period down to the present. For generations, prior to World. War e, the major nations of Europe were > Up under: the old divine right of King theory and the rulers of those nations through intermarriage of the ruling houses were all relatives and kinspeople. : The International Bankers of the world, together with the business and industrial heads of Kurope, considered that form of gov ernment as being con- | servative and SP dpctantill At that time they considered the United States as being a_ radical government whieh could not endure. After the Armistice of November, 1918, the internationalists considered Bolshevist Russia as the danger spot for the overthrow of constituted author- ity and business in Europe. Tn 1917, the oppressed people of Rus- sia. in the midst of World War One, had revolted from the rulership of their Royal House, which was known by the name of Romanoy (Romanoff). The Bolsheviks had murdered the members of the Royal House and had confiscated their estates. During the decade following World War One, the International Bankers ex- pected to see the restoration of the rul- ing houses of Europe. They expec ted to go back to the days of the divine right of Kings. During the decade from 1919 to 1929, the agriculture of the United States, as well as business and financial structure, were wrecked in order that the Inter- national Bankers could collect their loans from European countries in Amer- jean dollars. ; : At the beginning of World War One. Germany was the greatest industrial and financial country. in Europe and was further advanced in Sientific re- search, although the independent spirit and unequaled initiative of Americans had caused the United States to outstrip all others in inventive genius and in self-reliance. - For many years, prior to and during World War One, the ruling House of Germany were the Hohenzollerns of which the ruler member was known as the Kaiser. The last Kaiser, who ruled during World War One, was named Wilhelm Hohenzollern. At the close of World War One, the United States, England and the other Allies, in order to insure that Germany would never regain her strength as a nation, exiled the Kaiser to Holland, WSTALL MEN a Sea where he lived until just prior to the beginning of the second World War, The government in Germany was changed to that of a republic roughly. resembling that of the United States and the military leader of World War One, Prince Paul Von Hindenburg, was made President of Germany. On account of the destruction wrought on the economy and finance of Germany and the great drain on her manpower by World War One, together with rep- arations assessed against Germany by: the Allies, Germany was never able to recuperate under a form of government to which it was not aconstane and which was not suited to the conglom- erate population of people who consti- tuted the German. states. Tt followed, therefore, as a matter of course, that inflation ran rampant and that the German people who owned the land, houses and businesses in Germany, fell easy prey to the intrigues of peo- ple who, through the centuries, have fattened on the financial distress of fal- len nations. We have seen in a former artiele how the Internationalists, through funds raised in the United States and other countries, flocked into Germany and took over the land, houses and other properties belonging to the German people. Not only this, but these people of other races, with the protection ef the occupation forces of the Allies, en- trenched themselves in all the better jobs such as railway engineers, railway. conductors, ete. Therefore, a condition existed in Ger- many very much akin to conditions in the southern states during the Reconstrue- tion Period following the War Between the States. Tt was in this atmosphere and con- dition that these Internationalist came to accept the idea of foreed im- poverishment and subjugation of the caucasian people of the world, begin- ning with those in Germany. The need for preservation of th Germanic people against the hordes of mongrel people among whom they lived gave rise to Hitler who seized upon the opportunity in his ambition to become ruler first of Germany and then of the countries that surrounded Germany. The flocking to Hitler of the German people was motivated very much in the (Continued on Page Hight) = ROBE ne un th OF MARKETS, 222 STATE CAPITO, Atlanta, Address all items for publication and all requests tosbe put nailing list and for change of address to STATE BUREAU |} 2 4 -. || with running water, 20 NATIONAL 4 DITORIAL_ SSOCIATION et of notice.
