THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 1, 1940 NOTICE This is a rather lean season for -Farmers, and in order that as many Sale notices as possible be printed for them, | we are devoting practically all of the space in this issue of The Bulletin to these notices. Ads for which we did not have space will be printed in the Feb- ruary 15th issue. COLUMBUS ROBERTS, Commissioner. "Seed Loan Funds Available - Mr. Lovie B. Ponder, of Madison, Ga., State Supervisor of the Emergency Crop and Seed Loan division of the Farm Credit Administration, states that funds for 1940 seed loans are available to eligible farm- ers and that they can get information at the County Agents office. Loans will be made to Farmers who cannot get credit for seed, feed, and fertilizer from any other source and who meet certain requirements. Pork Week To Be Observed National Pork Week will be observed throughout the nation during , February and as this is an important factor in Geor- gia farming, our citizens are called upon to help boost this product. Hog meat is a farm meat and a winter time food. The farmer grows it and then helps to consume it, Georgia had 1,500,000 hogs on farms last year, more than any other southern state except Texas, and this state leads the south in number of packing plants that buy hogs raised by Georgia farmers.
