Payrolls in the other services sector, which includes religious, grantmaking, and personal care services, shrank by 2,000 positions over the month. This sector has experienced reductions in employment for three of the last four months. In August 2024, Georgia's unemployment rate (seasonally adjusted) increased to 3.6 percent over the month. The unemployment rate in Georgia remains well below the 4.2 percent national average.
