funeral for DEACON JAMES PAUL WYSE 1933 - 1988 Thursday, October 6, 1988 - 4:00 P.M. ELIM BAPTIST CHURCH 2357 Mt. Auburn Avenue Augusta, Georgia ************ Reverend Charles E. Smith, Pastor ** OBITUARY ** JAMES PAUL WYSE departed this life Sunday, October 2,1988. He was born July 31, 1933 to the parents of the late Luther and Ruth Wyse. He was reared and educated in Augusta, Georgia. At a very early age, James committed and dedicated his life to Christ, and was baptized at Elim Baptist Church where he served faithfully until his homegoing. Deacon Wyse loved Elim, and utilized every effort to share in the churchs programs. He served as a Deacon, having been ordained on October 31, 1976. Also, he served as President of the Sanctuary Choir, an office held at the time of his passing. Further, he was a member of the Board of Trustees of Elim Baptist Church, attended Sunday School on a regular basis, and supported all auxiliaries and the total mission of the church. He was formerly employed by Augusta College in the Plant Operations Department. Deacon Wyse will be remembered for his cooperative spirit and willingness to serve in whatever capacity he could. His unique sense of humor and his cheerful manner always lifted the spirits of those around him. Also, his melodious voice will be missed as he sang praises to God. Deacon Wyse leaves to cherish his memory, a daughter, Shelby V. Wyse; one grandson, Darius Trammell, both of Dorchester, Massachusetts; two sisters, Ms. Ruth M. Wyse and Mrs. Charlotte E. Crawford, Augusta, Georgia; one brother, William M. Wyse; one niece, Ms. Doris E. Crawford; one nephew, Charles E. Crawford, Augusta, Georgia; cousins, other relatives and friends. ************ Grief will not last, joy will return, For through the tears we clearly see That while we part hut for a time, With Christ well spend eternity.
