Wood was born in Bearing, Georgia, July 17, 1903 and departed this life Saturday, July 16,1977 at University Hospital, Augusta, Georgia. A retired barber, he had lived in Augusta for 50 years. At an early age he was converted and baptized joining the Popular Head Baptist Church in Bearing. After moving to Augusta he united with Galilee Baptist Church where he was ordained as a deacon and served on the board of deacons until his passing. He leaves to mourn his passing, one son, Mr. John Thomas Wood; three grandchildren, Bavid, Beon and Bemetrice Wood; two sisters, Mrs. Camilla Hobby of White Plains, N. Y. and Mrs. Sarah Hollimon of Augusta, Georgia; two brothers-in-law, Mr. Clifferd Hobby and Mr. Cornelious Hollimon; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Georgia Huff; a dear friend, Mrs. Rachel Kettles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. ******** Somewhere there is no parting Or sorrow, tears, or pain And there your loved one waits the day When you will meet again. ** ORDER OF SERVICE ** The Reverend J.
