Forth, Presiding OBITUARY "Rough wind, that moanest loud grief too sad for song . . . " On Sunday, April 27, 1980, Rev. M. L. Williams went silently to sleep. He was born June 18, 1924, in Augusta, Georgia to Mrs. Estell Williams and the late Rev. Charlie Williams. He attended the public schools of Richmond County, and at an early age, he was converted and baptized at the Second Shiloh Baptist Church under the pastorate of the late Rev. W. M. Jenkins. After serving his country and upon receiving an honorable dis charge, he again returned to Augusta to reestablish his residency. "Go preach my Gospel saith the Lord . . ., and in 1946 he received the devine call to preach the gospel of our Lord and Savior. He preached his trial sermon in January of 1947, and was later licensed and ordained by the late Rev. M. C. Thomas. He preached the word of God. He was dedicated to the cause of the cross, and during his thirtythree years of unyielding, consecrated service, many were converted and baptized as the Holy Spirit gave him utterance. His pastoral post were Mt. Hope Baptist Church, Milhaven, Georgia, Rocksville Baptist Church, Gloverville, S.C., Jerusalem Baptist Church, Augusta, Ga. and at the time of his death, he was the pastor of the Popular Springs Baptist Church of Columbia County. "Sauior bless us as we part . . . comfort every troubled heart . . . goodbye, goodbye, if on earth we meet no more; goodbye, goodbye, may we meet on heaven 's shore. He leaves to mourn his passing, a loving wife, Mrs. Rosie B. Williams; two sons, Sgt. Samuel C. Williams, Ft. Benning, Ga., and Mr. Anthony D. Williams, Augusta, Ga.; four daughters, Mrs. Dorothy W. Wallace, Flint, Michigan, Miss Barbara E. Williams, Mrs. Brenda W. Elliott and Miss Cynthia Y. Williams, Augusta, Ga.; his mother, Mrs. Estell Williams, Augusta; four brothers, Mr. Curtis Williams, Brooklyn, N.Y., Rev. Joseph Williams, Toledo, Ohio, Mr. Charles Williams and Mr. Emanuel Williams of Augusta, Ga.; five grandchildren, Miss Janet D. Smith, Master Timothy Williams, Miss Naomi Wallace, Master Elijah Wallace and Master Eric Elliott; father and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Moore; one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Marion P. Williams; two brothers-in-law, Mr. Earnest Lamb, Sr., Harlem, Ga. and Mr. James Brunson, Augusta, Ga.; one son-in-law, Mr. Milton E. Wallace, Flint, Michigan; five sisters-in-law, Mrs. Dora Williams, Mrs. Susie Williams, Mrs. Gertrude Williams, Mrs. Claudia B. Lamb, and Mrs. Allene Brunson; one aunt, Mrs. Mary Young; one uncle, Rev. M. J. Whitaker; one god-son, Mr. Prather Carter; nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. ". . .
