Frank Williams, Jr. departed this life on Tuesday, January 31, 2006 at Lexington Medical Center, West Columbia, South Carolina. He was born March 25, 1925 to the late Frank Williams, Sr. and Mrs. Marie Williams in Columbia, South Carolina. " The early part of his life was spent in Columbia, where he attended elementary and high school. In 1951 he relocated to Aiken, South Carolina, where he was employed until his retirement in March, 1989 from Dupont Chemical Plant. He was married to the late Mrs. Carrie Whaley Williams on April 5, 1941. From this union, seven children were born. Three preceded him in death, Frank III, Loretta and Deloris. Frank was a member of Indian Grove Baptist Church, along with his wife, Ms. Willie Mae Richardson Williams, who preceded him in death. After her death, he married Ms. Carolyn Watson on September 6, 1997 and joined Beulah Baptist Church, where she is also a member. In 1949, he joined the Masonic Organization, where he was made a Master Mason in Eastern Gate Lodge #414, which works under the authority of the Most Worshipful Smooth Ashlar Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Ancient York Mason Prince Hall Origin National Compact. He was the first Grand Royal Patron for the Grand Amaranth in the State of Georgia, and reached the highest Degree in the male (33 and last Degree) and female (Amaranth) in the Masonic Order. He is survived by his present wife of the home, Mrs. Carolyn Watson Williams; two daughters, Mrs. Willie Mae (Alfred) Williams-Williams of Goldsboro, North Carolina and Mrs. Shirley W Wallace of Cincinnati, Ohio; two sons, Mr. George F. Williams of New York, New York and Mr. H. Death is frightening; it is dark. The unknown, beyond our control. We resist death; we brace ourselves against it; we run away because we do not understand death merely means change. When single people marry, their life dies. As people age, their days f youth are gone. Death is the prerequisite of change. Whib we become willing to change we learn to accept death as a meaningful new beginning. We may never like the idea of death; it may never make us comfortable. However, when we want to change anything in life, we must be willing to facfpfleath. I move peacefully through- the darkness into the light of change.
