Dorothy Mae Jackson Williams was bom May 23, 1912 in McDuffie County to the late Edward and Mattie Jackson. She was the last of nine children to be called to her heavenly home. At an early age, she was baptized at the First Mt. Moriah Baptist church in Appling, Georgia, where she was a dedicated member. 
After moving to Augusta, she joined the Elim Baptist Church by letter in 1936 under the pastorate of the late Rev. Robert L. Boyd. She was a faithful member of the Usher Board, Sunday School, Prayer Service and Bible Study. She was especially faithful to the works of the Senior Mission Society and the Golden Ages Luncheons until her health declined. She never refused a chance to work in the church helping out with the Youth Activities, Vacation Bible School, in the kitchen after Sunday services or during special activities because of being too busy or tired. It gave her great joy and a feeling of accomplishment to do God's will. She always put Christ first in everything she did. 
 
 Dorothy was united in matrimony to the late Deacon
