At an early age, she dedicated her life to Christ and joined the (Rosemary (Baptist Church in Aiken, South Carolina where her father was the pastor. Bertha later joined Second (.Baptist Church where she served as the Church Secretary for many years. Bertha attendedSouth Carolina State "University earning Bachelor and Master ofScience degrees. Her continued studies included the "University of Fennessee and (Rutgers "University. Bertha was united in holy matrimony with Louis Williams in 1950. "They cele6rated over 50 years of marriage. To this union, two daughters were 6orn. She gave unparalleled dedication to aiding, educating, and improving the lives of youth and adults in Aiken County, and to others who crossed her path. She was affiliated with the following school, church and civic organizations: Teacher for over 37 years; High School girls basketball coach (South Carolina State Champions for sty or seven years); Aiken County School Board Mem her; Church Woman "United (President); Willing Workers (President); Missionary Circle #2 (President); South Carolina State College Alumni Association (President); Fas tern Star Lffion Chapter #391; American Legion A uxihary #212 (President); American Legion State of South Carolina (District President) and Winthrop Auxiliary Post #212 (President); Democratic SC delegate.
