Richard Collins Weaver, loving and devoted husband of Ethel Weaver for forty-seven years, and
the youngest son of the late Willie Mae and Robert Bishop Weaver, exchanged time for eternity
on September 29, 2019, ascending to his everlasting resting place.
Born in Richmond County, Georgia, on January 20,1949, Richard was preceded in death by his
sister, Mina Weaver Dease and brother, Robert Edward Weaver.
Richard was the living embodiment of generosity, kindness and unselfishness, as he tried to help
everybody that he came in contact with. He embraced life, service and leadership through the
lens of honesty, truth and strong perseverance while maintaining a spiritual focus.
He was baptized in the faith at an early age - a hard fighting soldier serving faithfully as chairman
of the Deacon Board of the Newness of Life Baptist Church, which he co-founded.
Richard graduated from T.W. Josey High School in 1967 and went on to serve a tour of duty
in the Vietnam War as a Military Policeman. He later joined the Richmond County Sheriffs
Department where he moved up the ranks pretty rapidly, retiring as a Major after forty-one
years of dedicated service to the citizens of Richmond County.
He was a championship breeder and active member of the Augusta German Shepherd Dog Club
for many years. He fought a good fight protecting and serving his community prior to succumbing
to his battle with prostate cancer.
Richard will forever live on in the memory of: his loving wife, Ethel Weaver; son, Richard Carloff
(Shetara) Weaver; daughter, Tigist Chara (Walter) Slaton; grandchildren, Miles Ravi Slaton,
Asia Michelle Weaver, Dennis J. Troutman, III and JaKobi P. Troutman; bonus-children, Darrell
Wideman, Gloria Wideman and Evan Wideman; sisters, Marie Noble, Joann Weaver, June
(Albert) Bonner and Barbara Weaver; brother, Harold Weaver; and a host of nieces, nephews
and special cousins.

(My Love)
You were a miracle to me
A special gift from God above
Whose life was the embodiment and reflection
Of the beauty of Gods love
You were a blessing in my world
A gentle soul, unique and rare
Who always lifted my spirits
With your tender loving care
You were everything Id hoped
The one I love would ever be,
And that is why you will always be
A very special miracle to me.
