A native of Gadsden, Alabama, he was bom to Ida Mae Warren and the late Raymond Warren. He was the oldest of four children. At an early age, Warren confessed Christ and was baptized at the First Baptist Church in Gadsden, Alabama. He was educated in the schools of Etowah County. He was a graduate of Carver High School and immediately began his military service with the United States Army. Warren was assigned to Ft. Gordon, Georgia and upon completing four years of service, he became a resident of Augusta, Georgia. On January 7,1964, Warren was joined in Holy Matrimony to Julia Smalley. To this union was bom a son, Raynard Ray. Through Christian experience, he j oined the Macedonia Baptist Church under the pastorage of the Rev- erend J. S. Wright. Warren loved working in the church. He was a member of the Brotherhood and the Male Choms. His love for the members of these ministries was always expressed in his loyalty and devotion to serve with them. Warren was a man of wisdom. He faithfully taught Sunday School with a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm. For a number of years, he served as a Cub Scout Assistant for the Cub Scouts of America. Warren had a unique bond and relationship with Pastor Fuller whom he had very high regards and rever- ence. He was employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Veterans Administration Hospital (Forest Hill Division), where he retired after many years of service. Because of his love for humanity, he was no stranger to anyone. His hobby was working in his yard, perfecting and manicuring his lawn. Warren was a man of many talents. He had a natural gift for drawing and painting. His favorite past time was spending quality time with his little buddy and grandson, Raynard, II whom he loved dearly. Warrens love for God, family, church, and friends cannot be adequately expressed in words. He leaves to cherish his memories: a beloved and devoted wife, Julia S. Warren; one son, Raynard Warren, I; mother, Ida Mae Warren, Gadsden, Alabama; one brother, Billy (Annette) Warren, Gary, Indi- ana; two sisters, Gloria Warren and Doris Reeves, both of Gadsden, Alabama; a beloved grandson, Raynard Warren, II, Augusta, Georgia; a devoted nephew, Charles Williamson, Charleston, SC; three sisters-in- law, Melrose Williamson, Charleston, SC, Beatrice Coachman, Columbia, SC and Louise Smalley, Au- gusta, Georgia; one brother-in-law, Eddie L.
