He departed this life on Monday, February 2, 2004 at the V.A. H ospital. H e was b o m to Mr. A le x (Ethel) Walker who preceded him in death. He retired from the U .S. Army and Therm al Ceram ics. He also was a member of the 25 Gents Social Club, and a 33rd degree M ason. After retiring from the Army he joined Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. He leaves to mourn: his wife, Mrs. A gnes M. Walker, after 48 years of marriage; two daughters, Bertha M. Johnson, of Augusta, G A , R uth (Edward) Brown o f M iam i, FL (one preceded him in death, Susan Burgess); one sister Delores J. Foster, Birmingham, A L ; two brothers, Rupert (Ester) Walker, New York, NY, A llen (Bettye) Walker, Tuscan, A Z; four adopted sisters, Ruth Bennett, Earline Colem an, Jessie and C lara Colem an; three sisterS'inTaw, Emma Walker, H ilda Walker, Lillie M cCloud; ten grandchildren, M arion (Cathy) Beasley, Linda Beasley, Charlie (M arion) Beasley, Roy (D iane) Pitts, George Burnett, Alonzo (Ruvenia) Burnett, Timothy Beasley, James Clarity, Jacquline Pitts and Ricky Pitts (two preceded him in death, Tyrone Pitts and Agnes Marie Pitts); very dear friends, Tony (Dorothy) Clark; four god'chib dren, Rachell and M ashell Hickson, Pam Raine and Phoenice Glenn; and a host of nieces, nephews, great grandchildren and friends.
