Wright ~ Officiating trttuaru On Saturday, December 4, 2004, the Angel of Silence released ANNIE MAE W ALKER, from her present world of joy and pain; and the essence of her life soared to a land far fairer than ours. At an early age, ANNIE was converted and baptized at the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in McCormick, South Carolina. Several years after moving to Augusta, she united with the Elim Baptist Church, where she rendered exemplary service until the time of her death. She sang in the Senior Choir for more than forty years and was a member of the Senior Mission for many years. Annie, one of nine children, was born on June 27, 1918, in McCormick, South Carolina to the late Enoch and Mozel Lanham. She was preceded in death by eight siblings, David Sonny Lanham, Inez L. Brunson, Marie Maggie L. McLemore, Augustus James A.J. Lanham, Enoch C. Buddy Lanham, Jr., Willie Moses Will Lanham and Isaac Ike Lanham, Sr. Left to cherish loving memories of Annie is her sister, Lula B. Lreeman. In addition to having been bom into a large and loving family, ANNIE was especially blessed when she met VALDON WALKER, SR. They married on July 8, 1945. Throughout their life together, he gave her as much love and support as a spouse and friend could give a mate. A chapter completed . . . a page well turned ... a life well lived ... a rest well earned. ANNIEs life was also greatly enriched by her three loving devoted children: Valdon Walker, Jr., Velma W. (James) Johnson and Alice L. Vaughns. The three children have given Annie and Valdon five grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by five sisters-in-law; Doris B. Lanham, Regina Lanham, Ora Lanham, Christine McGruder, Countess Walker; numerous other loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who mourn her passing. As the family Matriarch, ANNIE gave great advice and counsel to her many family members, and especially her children, nieces, nephews and grands. ANNIE was an avid lover of plants and was known for her green thumb. She was also a professional seamstress. Our strength comes from Gods presence with us." -Edward A. Baryeh I // Annie M. Hope cometh in the morning when the golden sun appears, And the lovely smile of nature brings a healing balm of cheer. Hope cometh in the morning when I hear the music ring From every little birds throat that finds sweet cause to sing. Hope cometh in the morning when I feel that God is near, When I breathe a whispered prayer and know that He will hear. ~ Joy Belle Burgess ~ (3ktkxwfohbQtxxxni& ~ To ALL WHO HAVE SHARED IN OUR SORROW AND EXPRESSED THEIR LOVE in SO MANY WAYS . . .
