Grady Sullivan, 83, of Bloomfield, beloved husband for 30 years of Elizabeth (McMullen) Sullivan, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 4, 2021. Grady was born in Augusta, GA, son of the late Geat and Lucille (Mealing) Sullivan, and attended schools in Augusta. After graduation, Grady proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He also attended Springfield Technical College and majored in Firefighter Studies. Grady was employed by the City of Hartford as a Firefighter and Ladder Driver, retiring after 30 years of service to the City. He was a member of The Phoenix Society, Inc. of Hartford, Connecticut, and the American Legion. Grady was a caring and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and dear friend. He will be fondly remembered as a man who loved his family dearly and would do anything for someone in need. If you needed anything, he was always there for you. He had a special and beautiful friendship with his Granddaughter, Eva, and grew attached to her dog, Suede. Grady was a God-fearing man and was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Bloomfield. More than anything, Grady loved to travel with Liz to the Cape and the Virgin Islands, and especially enjoyed getting in the car and going to visit friends and relatives in Augusta, Atlanta, New York, Chicago, and Philly. Grady was a wonderful friend, and you could always find him hanging out with his friends on Barbour Street. He loved clothes and shoes and always made sure he was dressed to the nines. Grady always took meticulous care of his cars and took pride in having the latest model. He loved his yard and would spend countless hours making sure his lawn was well manicured. He was known to be a great entertainer and loved to BBQ with his family and friends. He also loved to dance and listen to all kinds of music, particularly Blues, Smooth Jazz, and R&B. Besides his wife and best friend, Liz, he is survived by his children, Anna Princess Carrington Sullivan, Joseph Grady Sullivan, Scott Sullivan and his wife Toni, and Lagwana McMullen; his grandchildren, Sydney Tyler Coffee, Brittany Louise Morgan, Jaquan Sullivan-McCalop, Jordan Lena Sullivan, Wyatt Joseph Sullivan, and Eva Torres; great grandson, Dallas Easton Morgan; his siblings, Rosia Sullivan Key and her husband Victor Vic Key, Geat Sullivan, Jr., Roger Sullivan and his wife Annette, and Diane Howell; his brother-in-law, Freddie Jones; a special cousin, Larry Sullivan; his great niece, Shaylin McMullen-Bell; great nephew, Stephan Page; and a host of other relatives and dear friends. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Shirley Jones and Maxine Sullivan Walltower; and his sister-in-law, Blanche Sullivan. ORDER OF SERVICE Rev.
