He was appointed Assistant Professor and Director of Ambulatory Semces for the Medical College of Georgia on March 1,1998 and was in process of relocating to Marquinez, Georgia at the time of his death. Previously Wesley was Director of the Ob/Gyn Residency Program at St. Elizabeth Health Center. Before coming to Youngstown he oper ated a private practice in Columbus. He received a Bachelors Degree and a Medical Degree from Ohio State University and was a member of the Mahoning County Medical Society, the Ohio State Medical Society, the American Medical Society, the College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the Society Laparoscopic Surgeons, and the Ohio State Medical Alumni. Wesley came to know Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour in August of 1996. He joined the Rising Star Baptist Church and became active in several ministries including Men in Christ and Wednesday Bible Study. He became a Sunday School Teacher sewing as an instructor for the Experiencing God Course. Wesley was also a member of the Greater Youngstown Coalition of Christians serving on the Health and Education Committee where he was primarily responsible for the development of Grace Place Medical Services which is soon to open on the Southside of Youngstown. Wesley leaves his wife, the former Ethel Johnson, whom he married August 21,1971; two sons, Eric Wesley of Oxford, Ohio, and Victor Wesley of Liberty; a sister, Bettye Carol Lewis of Houston, Texas; and a granddaughter, Raven Stone.
