Knowing that our loved one lives on, the family, Tabernacle Church Family, and community record the passing of another one of their beloved members, Mr. Albert Stephens. Mr. Stephens was born in Pelham, Georgia on September 6, 1914, and quietly and peacefully came to rest in the Veterans Hospital, Augusta, Georgia on December 6, 1998. He attended the Public Schools of Pelham, Georgia. He was married to the former Eva McLarin. ^s Being a loyal and dedicated citizen, he joined the United States Army and served during World War II. As a civilian he was employed by the Marine Corps in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He prepared himself for a second career at the Barbers School and served for years as a self-employed barber in Philadelphia. Having faith in God, Mr. Stephens joined the White Rock Baptist Church in Philadelphia, under the pastorage of Rev. William Shaw, where he used his ability singing and was a member of the Sheep Fold Peter. Moving to Belvedere, South Carolina in 1975, he joined the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Augusta, Georgia and was a member of the R. A. Dent and Combined Choirs. This gentle, Christian and faithful man loved his family, his God, his church and cherished a warm friendship among many. He is survived by: a loving and faithful wife, Mrs. Eva Stephens; sisters, Mrs. Armon Williams, of Macon, GA; Mrs. Pearl Reid and Mrs. Rosa Sanders, of Cleveland, OH and Mrs. Minnie Reid, of Norfolk, VA; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Lucille Ryles, of Atlanta, GA; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. After the clouds, the sunshine, after the winter, the spring, after the shower, the rainbow, for life is a changeable thing. After the night, the morning, bidding all darkness cease, after lifes cares and sorrows, comfort and sweetness ofpeace.
