WATSON STANLEY, transitioned from this earthly home on Saturday,November 5, 2011 at the Golden Living Nursing Center in Augusta, Georgia. She was born the 15th and youngest child to Deacon Otis and Cora White Watson on November 16, 1924 in McDuffie County, Georgia. She was educated in the McDuffie County public school system and later matriculated to Fort Valley State College where she received her degree. At an early age, she accepted Christ as her savior and was baptized at Popular Head Baptist Church in Dearing, Georgia. She later united with Central A.M.E. Church and after many years, she joined the Beulah Grove Baptist Church. She was united in holy matrimony to the late Mr. William F. Stanley and this union was blessed with the addition of two children. Mrs. Stanley began her teaching career in 1963 in the Lincoln County School system where she shaped and molded many lives and after leaving in June 1971, she continued her teaching career at Thbman School and also at Lucy Craft Laney High School. In July 1971, she joined the teaching staff of the Academy of Richmond County where she taught home economics until her retirement on August 28, 1986. She touched and inspired many lives throughout her tenure as an educator. As a member of Beulah Grove, she served faithfully as a member of the Business and Professional Circle, The Senior Mission, The Senior Choir and the Memorial Ministry until her health failed. Because of her love for children and education the Memorial ministry became her pride and joy when it was organized December 18, 1991 with the creation of the Bessie Watson Danforth Memorial Scholarship Fund to financially assist students as they pursued higher education. She leaves to cherish fond memories: son, Rodney F. Stanley; daughter, Mrs. Paula Stanley McRae, step-daughter, Mrs. Betty S. Bailey; five grandchildren, Delonike Mingle, Monica McRae, Marvin L. McRae Jr., Ausha Jennings all of Augusta, GA, Miriam McRae, Marietta, GA; one greatgrandson, Kaleb A.L. Spruill; brother-in-law, Kato Doster, Sarasota, FL; A special nephew Roman (Shirley) Mobley, Augusta, GA; godchildren, Rev. Dr. Clarence (Clyrissa) Brown, Mrs. Bertha S. Draidfort, Augusta,GA; devoted friends and caregivers, Flora M.
