HAMMOND GROVE WORD POWER MINISTRY 214 W. FIVE NOTCH ROAD NORTEI AUGUSTA, SOUTH CAROLINA DR.BOBBY G. HANKERSON, PASTOR PRESIDING REVEREND ANTHONY RAY - OFFICIATING Ms. Annie Pearl Blanchard Smith, a long-time resident of Aiken, South Carolina and Augusta, Georgia, moved on to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 14, 2019, at Doctors Hospital in Augusta, Georgia. She was born on January 6,1942, in North Augusta, South Carolina to the late Leonard Blanchard and the late Fannie Julia Nichols Blanchard. She accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at an early age, at Old Hammond Grove Baptist Church in North Augusta, South Carolina. During her lifetime, she was a member of several churches to include Old Hammond Grove Baptist Church, New Zion Hill Baptist Church (Augusta, Georgia), Fairview Missionary Baptist Church (Augusta, Georgia) and Good Shepherd Baptist Church (Augusta, Georgia). She served as a devoted member of each churchs choir and she was a member of the Deaconess Ministry and the Youth Choir Director at Fairview Missionary Baptist Church. Ms. Pearl, as she was lovingly known, received her Cosmetology Degree from Aiken Technical College in 1971 and worked as a Cosmetologist for over thirty-five years in the Augusta Area. Ms. Pearl loved singing, writing poetry and songs, socializing, and teaching her craft. She had a great since of humor, loved to laugh and loved trying new restaurants and foods - she was the original Foodie, enjoying not only the taste of food but also the beauty and presentation. Ms. Pearl leaves a legacy of advocating, supporting and encouraging the success and advancement of women and social equality for all. She is survived by: sons, Melvin (Linnette) Smith of Hephzibah, GA and Minister Felix Smith (Crystal) of Anderson, SC; daughter, Vonda (Darrell) Smith of Delray Beach, FL; several loving and adoring grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. We shall not have sorrow for your passing, but sorrow for our loss. We will remember your beautiful face and the smile that could light up a thousand rooms. We will remember your strength and your resilience. Thank you for teaching us, it is not the tragedy in our lives that shape who we are, but the journey back from that tragedy that defines us. You made us laugh, you made us mad, you made us proud, and sometimes you made us sad; but in ah there is and never will be doubt of your love for us, for that, you were never afraid to share. You would always say, God is good and I am not afraid. Therefore, we will rejoice in your life and what you have taught us and rejoice in your rest in the Lords peace. As your new journey begins, we say goodbye, Ms. Pearl. tfootd&ye, ^/ffonwiy, ^}{Je Love Your Children, Melvin, Felix Memorial gifts can be made on behalf of Annie Pearl Smith to: The Alzheimers Association at www.als.org Checks Payable to: The Alzheimers Association, 106 SRP Drive, Suite A, Evans, GA 30809 e/mte Prelude.........................................Soft Music Processional Scriptures Old Testament...........Reverend Vincent Griffith Pastor, Universal Ministries Christian Fellowship Church | Augusta, GA New Testament...........Reverend Tommy Stanford Pastor, Mars Hill Baptist Church j Greenwood, SC Prayer........v................Reverend Mark Gibson, Sr. Pastor, Emmanuel Faith Tabernacle Christian Center, Grovetown, GA Selection......................Emmanuel Faith Tabernacle Christian Center Choir Poem Vonda Smith Remarks (Please Limit to Two Minutes) As A Friend.......................Frances Wakefield As A Choir Member...................Thelma White As A Personal Care Home Resident....
