Life is a journey., not a home; a road, not a city of habitation; and the enjoyments and blessings we have are but little inns on the roadside of life, where we may be re freshed for a moment, that we may with new strength press on to the end- to rest that remaineth for the people of God. 
On Monday, August 30, 1976, Mrs. Susie Herring Sharperson departed this life at the home of her son, Mr. John H. Evens, 1320 Pine Street, Columbia, South Carolina. 
Mrs. Sharperson was born March 5, 1$96 in Saluda, South Carolina to the late Joseph and Sophia Steven Herring. After spending her early yuars in Saluda, she moved to Augusta, Georgia, 
Mrs. Sharperson was married to James W. Sharperson, who preceeded her in dc.ath. Mrs. Sharperson united with the Thankful Baptist Church of j^ugusta, ; where she remained faith ful to her church, arid active in its work until her health failed. When it appeared that she was no longer able to take care of herself, she was taken to live with her son, and daughter-in-law in Columbia, South Caro lina. They lovingly cared for her until God called her home. 
Mrs. Sharperson is survived by her son, John H. Evans, Columbia, S.C.; one daughterin-lnwy, Mrs. Alice Evans, Columbia, S.C.; Three granddaughters, Mrs. Joan E. Lewis, Mrs. Jeanette E. Williams, Mrs. Doris E. Humph of Columbia, S.C.; one grandson, Mr. Benjamin Evans, Columbia, S.C.; Twelve greatgrand children; three great-great grand chil dren; two brother-in-lqiws, Mr. Willie Woods, Augusta, Ga.; Mr. Charlie Devoes, Covington, Ga.; Neices, Mrs. Susie B. Williams, Mrs. 
 
 Shopie Lee Bennett, Augusta, Ga.; Mrs. Mary Whitherspoon, Harvey, Illinois; several great neices, nephews, and a host of other rela tives and friends.
