Q^'m Dont grieve for me, for notv Im free; Im following the path God has chosen for me. I took His hand when I heard Him call; I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day; To laugh, to love, to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way; Ive now found peace at the end of day. If my parting has left a void; Then fill it with remembered joys. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss; Oh yes, these things I, too, will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow; Look for the sunshine of tomorrow. My lifes been full, I savored much; Good friends, good times, a loved ones touch. Perhaps my time seems all too brief; Dont lengthen your pain with undue grief. Lift up your heart and peace to thee; God wanted me nowHe has set me free. She loved her home and was happy as she gained many new friends. She was born on March 18, 1916, to the parents of Mamie Hornsby Saxon and the Rev. Benjamin Saxon. Aunt Dankie, as she was affectionately called by her family members, committed her life to Christ at an early age. She attended the First Baptist Church of Gough, Georgia, where she maintained her membership. Ms. Mary Lou attended the Baptist Church Schools in Burke County and became a laborer and later, a caretaker for her father, Rev. Saxon. She also had another career as an entertainer. She talked Much trash as her friends would come to hear her long tall tales. Laughter was good for the soul when anyone was around her. She also acquired a skill in medicine that she learned from her father. Many home remedies were made and were good for whatever ailed any patient. She was preceded in death by her other 18 siblings. They were as follows: Tom Saxon, Frank Saxon, Tena Saxon Cooper, Willie Saxon, Bennie J. Saxon, Alex Saxon, Carrie B. Nobles, Albertha Benefield, Rosa Saxon Williams, Emma Saxon Jones, Georgia Lou Saxton-Carter (Leslie), Samuel C. Saxon (Rosebud), Bennie F. Saxon (Annie), Eula Saxon Walker, Irene Saxon Cheatham (Grover), Walter Fess Saxon (Daisy), and James Bud Saxon. As reflected in the Saxon, Lewis Shubert Family History, Aunt Dankie was well known, loved, and cherished by all. She will be missed and remembered by all who knew her for her jokes and her many sayings like: I am a sport, and When you have your health, you have your best friend. Most memorable was her sound advice - Expect something good to come out of this life, and chances are it will. Her family and friends will remember her for her large purse, which often contained all that she needed for her personal protection. Presiding, Rev.
