Mr. jack Ruffin, Sr. is such a great great man 
With Ms family by Ms side he can do as much 
as he can. 
He has a smile that cant be ignored 
Hes perfect entertainment you cant be 
bored. 
He cares tor others and dont you forp'et it 
Cause last time I checked Ms heart had no 
black pit. 
Hes been here for a long time and it isnt a 
lie 
But thank God today he is still alive. 
Everyone loves him and I do too 
But I just wanna say

John H. (Jack) Ruffin, Sr. was born January 28, 1915 to J. Holiday Ruffin and 
Leazie Gomillion Ruffin in Jenkins County, GA. On April 26, 2012, Jack 
passed away peacefully after having lived a rich and full life. Other residences 
during his life included Waynesboro, GA, Jersey City, NJ, and Birmingham, 
AL. The last years of his life were spent in the family home of Judge and Mrs. 
Sterling (Fannie) Wimberly of Waynesboro, GA. 
Jack as he was affectionately known, originally worked as a shoemaker, but 
upon moving to New Jersey, he was employed with the John F. Boyle Co. and 
became floor supervisor. 
He was initially married to Anne L. Davis and two children were born to this 
union, John H. Ruffin, Jr. and Sarah E. Ruffin (Wims) both who pre-deceased 
him. In 1946, Mary E. Williams (1926-1996) and he were united in marriage. 
The couple played a significant role in the rearing of two of their 
grandchildren, Franklin C. Ruffin and Charlette T. Wims-Green. 
He is survived by three grandchildren, Jeffrey Wims, Newark, NJ, Charlette 
Wims-Green, Birmingham, AL and Simeon Brinkley (Candace) Ruffin, Oviedo, 
FL, devoted family member Fannie Mae (Sterling) Wimberly and family, 
Waynesboro, GA, daughter-in-law, Judith Fennell Ruffin, Augusta, GA, 9 
great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in 
death by his siblings, Josephine Lee and Maryetta Pringle, and grandchildren 
Franklin C. Ruffin and James Wims.
