Thelma was born on June 30,1941, in Burke County, to the late Willie and Agnes Gilchrist. When I come to the end of my journey, And I travel my last weary mile, Justforget if you can, that I ever frowned, And remember only the smile. She was porget unkind words j have spoken> employed at Georgia Regional Hospital for over thirty years. She also served as a Caregiver for several families in the Augusta area. Remember some good I have done, PRAYER Brother Samuel Howe In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Willie Gilchrist, Jr., Miller Gilchrist, Sr., and John Gilchrist; and sisters, Evelyn Lee and Willie Mae Gilchrist. SELECTION Reverend Robert Lynch Thelma, affectionately known as Sue, enjoyed cooking, surrounding herself with family and friends, and talking on the phone. She was a devoted mother and Caregiver to Cyrene, who was the light of her life. Sue will be remembered for her infectious laugh, warm smile, and her loving heart. Sue never met a stranger and was willing to help anyone in need. She even left a lasting impression on the Augusta University staff who cared for her up until her final days. The nurses described her as feisty, sociable, and an absolute sweetheart. We celebrate knowing she is with God and family gone before her. She will be greatly missed by family, friends, and others whose lives she touched.
