BESSIE LEE PRINTUP, affection ately known as Sister and Ma Bessie, was born on October 21, 1910, to the late Michael Mitchell and Doris Avery. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Claude L. Printup. She was a Retired Educator in the Richmond County School System where she served for over thirty years. She retired from C.T. Walker Elementary under the leadership of Ike Washing ton, Principal. Bessie confessed her belief in Christ at an early age and united with the Antioch Baptist Church, where Reverend I.J. Yancey was her Pastor. She was also a member of the Fellowship Circle for many years. Being a loving and devoted aunt, she leaves to cherish her memo ries: an adoring and dedicated nephew, Thomas D. (Ann) Hornsby of Augusta, Georgia; grandnephew, Daman D. Hornsby of Atlanta, Georgia; grandnieces, Stacey L. Hornsby of Atlanta, Georgia, Lisa Lake Campbell of San Diego, California and Michelle McCorvey of Atlanta, Georgia; great nieces, Teyari A. Hornsby, Ariel, Ashley and Alijah Campbell; great nephews, Daron and Jarred McCorvey; one god daughter, Shirley Johnson of Marietta, Georgia; two compassionate caregivers, Paula Churchville and Wendall Scott; and a host of loving friends.
