I 'm following the path God laid fo r me. I took His hand when I heard H im call, I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day To laugh, to love, to work or play. Tasks left undone m ust stay that way, I fo u n d that place a t the close o f day. I f my painting has left a void, Then fil l it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss; A h yes, these things I too will miss. Be not burdened with times o f sorrow, I wish you the sunshine o f tomorrow. Obituary Ola M ae (D u n n ) Patterson entered into rest Saturday, May 22, 2004 University Hospital, A u g u sta , Georgia. She was born M ay 23, 1930 in C olum bia C ounty, Georgia to the late H ill D u n n Sr. a n d A n n ie M ae (Young) D u n n . She was form ally educated in A ugusta, Georgia. Ola received Christ a t an early age a t the M o u n t Olive Baptist Church. She moved to New York in 1953. There she m et a n d m arried the late Reverend W illiam F. Patterson on A u g u st 16, 1955. To this union two children were added; one daughter, V aulta ]. Patterson, a n d one son, L a m o n t F. Patterson, both o f A ug u sta , Georgia. She worked devotedly in the private nursing field fo r m any years; to which she has m any certificates a nd letters o f appreciation. Xk 4 She moved back to A ugusta, Georgia in 1997. Here she was reunited with m any childhood friends. Ola Mae Patterson leaves to cherish her memories one daughter; Vanita J. Patterson; one son, Lam ont F. Patterson, both o f Augusta, Georgia. Three sisters, Ethel (Lee) Bridges, Jennie (Gary) Collins, Willie A n n Jackson, all o f Augusta, Georgia; one brother James Bobby (Rosa) D unn, Thomson, Georgia; oneg r a n d daughter, Jessica O. Davidson, o f Augusta, Georgia; one sister-inlaw M atilda Blackmon, Lancaster, South Carolina; and a host o f nieces, nephews and other relatives and specialfriends.
