 OBITUARY 
Mrs. Minnie Parks was born April 29,1913 in Lincolnton, Georgia and departed this life on April 5, 2005 at Hospice of the Upstate in Anderson, South Carolina. She was the daughter of the late John and Minnie Matthews Parks. 
She was a member of New Tabernacle Baptist Church in Lincolnton, Georgia where she served faithfully until her health failed. 
She was preceded in death by one son, Willie C. Parks; four sisters, Doll Mahoney, Cicely Mahoney, Lila Norman and Pinky Partlow and four brothers, Evans Parks, Lucius Parks, Willie Lee Parks and Bud Parks. 
She leaves to cherish many fond memories her grandson, Willie James Parks of Greenville, SC; one great-granddaughter, Lillie Parks of Greenville, SC; two great-great-granddaughters, Sudashia Parks and Korriana Parks both of Greenville, SC; four great-grandsons, Roderick Goldsmith, Kingsley Gold smith, Quinton Goldsmith and Alien Goldsmith all of Greenville, SC; niece and nephew, Robert Partlow and Annie Mae Blackwell both of Lincolnton, GA and a host of other relatives and friends. 
MY LAST REQUEST 
Please dont say that I gave up, just say that I gave in. Dont say I lost the battle, for it was Gods war to lose or win. 
Please dont say bow good I was, but that I did my best Just say I tried to do whats right To give the most I could, not do less. 
Please dont give me wings or halos, thats for God to do I want no more than I deserve, no extras, just my due 
Dont be concerned about me now, Im well with God, Ive made it home Dont talk about what could have been, its over and its done Just see to all myfamilys needs, the battle has been won When you draw a picture ofme, dont draw me as a saint Ive done some good, Ive done some wrong, so use all your paint Not just the bright and light tones, use some gray and dark In fact, dont put me down on canvas, paint my in your bean Dont just remember all the good times But remember all the bad! For life is full ofthings, some happy and some sad But ifyou must do something, then I have one last requestForgive me for the wrongs Ive done and with the love thats left 
Thank Godfor my souls resting. Thank Godfor all who loved me. Praise God who loved me best.

For this is a journey we all must take. And each must go alone. Its part ofthe Masters Plan. A step on the road to home. 
When you are lonely and sick of heart, Go to the friends we know. And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds. Miss me but let me go.
