William Parkman, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James (Ella Broadwater) Parkman, was bom May 22, 1913 in Edgefield County, South Carolina. He departed this life on December 13, 1995 in the University Hospital. He joined the Old Piney Grove Baptist Church in 1927. In later years, he joined the Mealing Grove Baptist Church, where he served faithfully. He joined the U S. Army in 1942 and was discharged in November 1945 at Camp Gordon, Georgia. He worked at TRW for twenty-eight years and retired in June o f 1978. He was a member of the Zion Sons and Daughters Society and the Primrose Charity Savings Club. He was married to the late Mrs. Alberta Reid Parkman. Survivors include: a Goddaughter, Ms. Wilhelmenia Anderson of Augusta, GA; two sisters, Mrs. Mary E. Curry and Mrs. Mary Crawford; one brother, Mr. Tom Walter Parkman, all of North Augusta, SC; one aunt, Mrs. Marie Parkman; two brothers-in-law, Mr. Eddie Reid and Mr. Josh Crawford; a devoted nephew, Mr. Robert Curry, Clearwater, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
