Owens Sr. was born in Jamaica Queens, new York on March 13, to the late Robert E. Hall, and Maude K. Owens. He attended PS 134 Elementary and Linden Jr. High 192 both of Hollis Queens, Hew York and Benjamin Cordoza High, of Bayside Queens, Hew York. He was employed with Apollo nursing Home as a Certified nursing Assistant, where he was awarded Union Rep. He loved playing basketball. He played for numerous leagues throughout St. Pete. He recieved numerous amount of trophies. He played in 3 on 3 tournaments. The name of the team was called JAP (John, A1 and Prince). He enjoyed bowling and pool. Deprince J. Owens Sr. departed this life on Monday, February 11, 2008 at Bayfront Medical Center.
