LD STORM BRANCH BAPTIST CHURCH CEMETERY 163 Storm Branch Road Beech Island, SoutfCarolina Reverend Martris Mims | Officiating Willie "Mickey" Murray was born on November 13, 1938, in North Augusta, South Carolina, to the late Grover and Thelma Murray. Mickey received his education in South Carolina and then made his home in North Augusta, South Carolina, where he married Brenda Taylor. Mickey became a member of Old Storm Branch Baptist Church roots in Georgia and shined shoes to help earn a living early in sing with gravel and grit. In the late 1960s, he signed with the at an early age. He had life. He proved he could King/Federal Label and Mickey became one of the nation's top soul music singers in the 1960s with his 1967 recording of `Shout Bamalama', selling one million copies. Mickey had a long and reasonably successful career in the music to live a nice quiet life. He obtained work with a finance company Midsouth, where he retired after seventeen years. He continued to business and then sing with and decided with J and J the choirs of Old Storm Branch Baptist Church, both at its old historic church building and at its new location. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Walter Lee Murray, Clarence Murray, and Earnest Murray. Mickey is survived by: his wife Brenda Murray; daughter, Sylvia Eanes; granddaughter, Angelica Harris; great-grandson, Chandler Grant; goddaughter, Yolanda Alexander (Andre); his goddaughter's children, Kierston Young and Aaden Alexander, aunt, Lucy Mae Morgan; sisters-in-law, Johnnie Mae Jones, Tammy Tucker, and Marilyn VW/oodberry (Eddie); and a host of other family members and friends. - To My Family No more sorrow, no more pain. A heavenly home with God I have gained. No more suffering, no more danger or harm, God has placed me safe in His arms. No more crying, my soul is atpeace. No more running, God's looking out for me.
