Ql/2U& U icia tin y OBITUARY Mrs. Janie Lee Moody of Augusta, Georgia entered into eternal rest on Sunday evening, December 20, 2009 at the Memorial Medical University Center in Savannah Georgia after a brief illness. Janie was born on July 31, 1928 in Augusta to James and Mary Ann Scott. She attended public schools in Augusta. Janie retired in 1991 from Murray Biscuit Company after thirty-nine years of dedicated service. She was active in several church ministries including Sunday School, the Golden Agers, the Senior Choir, the Hospitality Ministry, and the Missionary Circle at the Galilee Missionary Baptist Church. A willing servant, she was active in community service programs throughout her life. Janie worked with the Neighborhood Association and was a member of the Fashionettes Social Club. Janie was preceded in death by her parents James and Mary Ann Scott; her beloved sister, Willie Maw Gunter; a brother-in-law John Gunter; and two nieces Cordelia Gunter and Betty Williams. She leaves to cherish her memories and works an Aunt, Mrs. Corrie Williams of Brooklyn, NY; Uncle Timothy Williams and Arthur Williams of Aiken, SC; a devoted nephew Dr. Randy (Anne) Gunter of Statesboro, GA; a grand niece Adria Gunter of Hyattsville, MD; a number of Godchildren including Phyllis Lewis Thomas; Hephzibah, Ga., devoted cousins Rosa B. Lewis and Deborah D. Wilcox of Augusta, GA; a devoted friend Gwen Collier of Statesboro, GA; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
