GOING HOME SERVICES for RET. M/SGT. REGINALD A. MITCHELL Sunday, July 21, 1985 - 1:00 P.M. THANKFUL BAPTIST CHURCH Augusta, Georgia Rev. N. T. Young, Sr., Officiating ** OBITUARY ** There is an open gate at the end of the road Through which each must go alone; And there in the light we cannot see Our Father claims His own. On Monday, July 15,1985, one we loved and knew stepped across the threshold called death, but it was only a step into another room and not a stepping out of fellowship of life. Reginald, the oldest son of Joseph W. and Ethel L. Mitchell, was born July 20, 1946 in Lynchburg, Va. His early years were spent in Virginia where he attended elementary and junior high school. He was converted and baptized at the Antioch Baptist Church, Coleman Falls, Virginia. In 1963, the Mitchell family moved to Augusta, Georgia. Reginald, along with other members of the family, united with the Thankful Baptist Church. He graduated from Lucy C. Laney High School, Augusta in 1964. After graduation, he entered the United States Air Force. On March 25, 1965, he was united in Holy Wedlock to Miss Neitha Swinton of Charleston, S.C. This union was blessed with three children. His military duties carried Reginald and his family to many states, but in all things, he was devoted, dedicated, caring and attuned with God and man. Upon retiring from active military duty, he returned to Augusta and resumed his activities with Thankful Baptist Church, serving as an assistant Boy Scout Leader. He was a Shriner with Masonic Lodge Alhe Jaz Temple No. 99, Anchorage, Alaska. Cherishing many fond memories are his wife, Neitha A. Mitchell; two sons, Ken and Rodney Mitchell; one daughter, Valeric Mitchell; parents,Joseph W. and Ethel L. Mitchell; one brotherjames Mitchell; two sisters, Karen M. Major and Donaval Mitchell; mother and fatherin-law, Walter and Florence Swinton; three sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, eight nieces, seven nephews, two aunts, two uncles, other relatives and a host of friends. ** ORDER OF SERVICE ** PROCESSIONAL SELECTION ...................................
