Thomas Scott, Officiating ** OBITUARY ** On April 27, 1986, God sent his angels down from heaven to earth to pick him a beautiful flower, Mary Lanham Mims, daughter of the late Rev. Burel and Martha Lanham, born November 24, 1901 in Edgefield County, South Carolina She received her education in the local elementary schools in Edgefield County, South Carolina. She completed her journey as a Christian soldier at her resident and went home for her great reward. At an early age she was converted and baptized at Old Piney Grove Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. D. W. Mitchem. Later she united with Mt. Zion Baptist Church where she served faithfully until her health failed and as chief of the Usher Board for a number of years. In 1929 she was united in holy wedlock to the late Dea. George Mims. To this union eight children were born, one preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish her beautiful memories; a son, Johnnie Mims of North Augusta, SC.; six daughters, Georgia Mae Broadwater, Trenton, S.C., Martha Robinson, Margaret Abraham, and Ruth Mims all of North Augusta, S.C., Katie Brightharp, Belvedere, S.C., and Bertha Broadwater, Broadwater, Augusta, Ga.; two adopted children, Hattie Hallary of North Augusta, S.C., and Alex Mims of Brooklyn, NY.; a brother, George Lanham, Augusta, Ga.; a devoted grandson, Andrew Robinson,; fourty-six grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; twelve adopted grandchildren; one daughter-in-law; five sons-in-law; one adopted son-in-law; three sisters-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews and sorrowing friends. ** ORDER OF SERVICE ** Presiding, Rev.
