Mr. Toombs McLendon III, director of the Toombs McLendon Jr. Funeral Home, passed Mon day, February 20, 1984 at his residence. He was one of the areas most prominent leaders in the black community. 
Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Bessie McLen don; wife, Mrs. Brenda McLendon; first wife, Mrs. Elnora McLendon; two daughters, Lisa McLendon and Henrietta Sturgis; four sons, Toombs McLen don IV, Timothy McLendon, Marcus McLendon and Alphonzia Mayes; a sister, Mrs. Norris McLen don; a brother-in-law, Marvin McLendon, all of Washington; an uncle, James A. McLendon, at torney of Chicago, 111.; an aunt, Mrs. Essie Tucker of Santa Monica, Calif.; the Willis family of Tignall and many cousins and friends.
