Smith, Founder) T h e R e v e re n d J o se p h F u lle r, J r., P a s to r - Officiating O b itu a /iy Albert Mance, was the youngest of eleven children bom to the late Rachel and Noble Mance on July 30, 1910 in Greenwood, S.C. At an early age the family migrated to Philadelphia, PA where he was educated in the Philadelphia School System. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II, receiving several commendations for his diligent service. He received an Honorable Discharge in 1945. "Al", as he was affectionately known, was employed by the Philco Corp. for over 30 years as a machinist and was a dedicated worker and Foreman. He was active on the Recreation Planning Committee and looked forward to the various activities even after his retirement. He was a supporter of The Men and Women Usher Boards, The Nurse's Unit and The Men's Day Committee in which he gave his time and faithful contributions. He was active in the 2800 block of 26street and was the Block Treasure for many years. He was a friend and guide for the youth and was the block chaperon for many of the activities they wanted to attend no matter where it was. He was a faithful member of The Phoenix Lodge No. 3 Prince Hall Free and Accepted Masons and the King Hiran Chapter No. 2 Holy Royal Arch Masons; DeMolay Consistory No. 1 32 Scottish Rite P.H.A. He leaves to cherish his memory, a loving and devoted wife Margaret, an "adopted" daughter Margaret Jackson, a faithful nephew, cousins, other relative and friends. , We loved him hut God loved him best.
