Church Augusta, Georgia * * * * Reverend Larry Hudson ~ Officiating ^Josephine <1^ ^ee was born December 14, 1913, as the second of three children to Jay Holiday and Leazie Ruffin in Jenkins County, Georgia. She departed this life May 19,1999, at her residence in Augusta, Georgia. She finished Waynesboro High and Industrial School in Waynesboro, Georgia. Josephine later married Dr. I. S. Lee, who was Waynesboros only Black physician. She was a member of Mount Olive A.M.E. Church in Waynesboro until the death of her husband. She then moved to Augusta, Georgia where she joined Bethel A.M.E. Church and served faithfully until her death. In addition to being preceded in death by her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Maryetta R. Pringle, Walterboro, South Carolina. She is survived by: her brother, John H. Ruffin, Sr., Birmingham, Alabama; two stepsons, Hawthorne Lee and Sammy J. Lee of Augusta, Georgia and Detroit, Michigan, respectively; a nephew, John H. Ruffin, Jr. (Judith), Augusta, Georgia; two great nephews, Frank Ruffin, Birmingham, Alabama and S. Brinkley Ruffin, Atlanta, Georgia; a special friend, Ms. Cheryl Walker; and other relatives and friends. Celebration Services The Reverend Larry W.
