Lamar, the son of Mrs. Cassie Lamar and the late Dea. Hurbert Lamar, was born in Aiken County, South Caro lina, June 4, 1927. Departed this life September 22, 1982 at the University Hospital, Augusta, Georgia. At an early age he was converted and joined Old Hammond Grove Baptist Church, under the leadership of the late Rev. A. W. Vincent, where he remained until death. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Mrs. Mattie L. La mar; two daughters, Mrs. Cassie Elaine Kelly of Florence, South Carolina, and Miss Sherron Althea Lamar of North Augusta, South Carolina; three sons, Mr. Arthur Lee Lamar, Mr. Clifford Ovem Lamar, and Benjamin Lamar, all of North Augusta, South Carolina; mother, Mrs. Cassie Lamar of North Augusta, South Carolina; one brother, Mr. Thomas Lamar of North Augusta, South Carolina; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Sadie Lamar; thirteen aunts, seven uncles; a mother-in-law, Mrs. Lucy B.
