Mrs. Mattie Bell Key departed this life Tuesday, December 28, 1982 at the Aiken Community Hospital, Aiken, South Carolina. She was the daughter of the late James and Georgia Wright Newsome. 
At an early age, she joined the Evening Light Church of God where she served until her death. 
On June 25, 1938, she was united in holy matrimony to Mr. George Henry Key, who preceded her in death. To this union, three children were born. 
She leaves to cherish her memory: three daughters, Mrs. Betty J. Hamilton, Mrs. Joann Perkins, and Miss Annette Key, all of Graniteville, South Carolina; four sisters, Mrs. Ruth Butler, Mrs. Dora Johnson, Mrs. Maggie McKie, Mrs. Louise Small, all of Graniteville; one brother, Mr. Adam Newsome, Graniteville; seven grandsons, Juan, Duncan, Johnnie, Bruce, and Eric Hamilton, and George and Patrick Perkins; two sons-in-law, Mr. Johnnie Hamilton of Graniteville, S.C. and Sgt. Albert Perkins of Fort Lee, Virginia; five God-children, Stella Quiller, Jessie Webb, Jr., James Myers, Jr., Levi McKie, Jr., Pamela Barnes; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Carrie Newsome, Greenville, S.C. and Mrs. Ora Mae Key, Graniteville; two brothers-in-law, Mr. David Johnson and Mrs. Lawrence McKie, both of Graniteville; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and loving friends.
