 Arthur James Johnson, Jr., age 73, died suddenly Tuesday, January 4, 2005 at his home. 
A New Orleans native, Mr. Johnson was born May 8, 1931, to the late Hazel Flaiiucis and Arthur J. Johnson, Sr. After graduating 'from Gilbert Academy in Louisiana, he was drafted as a quarterback to play football at Clark College in Atlanta, Georgia. While at Clark, he pledged Omega Psi Phi fraternity and met and married a Barnesville native, Vivian E. Vaughn. 
The couple began their married life in Columbus, Georgia as teachers, moved to New York, and later to West Haven, Connecticut. They raised three children: Wayne Keith, Michael Bruce and Pamela Carol. He served three years in the U.S. Army and then re-enlisted as a Captain in the Army Reserves until his retirement. He spanned many careers throughout his life from developing his own company, Nu Medical Systems, traveling as a medical salesman to practicing as a Corrective Therapist with the Veteran's Administration. Throughout all o f his endeavors, he has been respected and loved for his unique mixture of poise and humor. 
To those that knew him, it was obvious that A rthur's first love was his family, his second was golf. His smile was infectious and his spirit undaunting. He will be greatly missed. 
He is survived by his loving wife, Vivian E. Johnson and eldest son Wayne Keith Johnson (Joszet) and daughter Dr. Pamela Carol Johnson. He was predeceased by his youngest son, Michael Bruce Johnson. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Dorothy Vaughn Worthy and Geraldine Foster and brothers-in-law, John W. Vaughn (Beatrice), Charles Pv. Hardaway, Robert L. Brown and cousins: Shirley Pijeaux and Dan Johnson (Sylvia) and a hosts of nieces and nephews. 
 
Jfour love has been so dear, overfifty years or so. 
It was given withoutfear with a steady and evenflow. 
M aking every phase complete, your love has filled m y life. With the absence o f deceit 
I learned to be mother and wife.
