ULYSSES STEPHEN JARVIS, SR. express their deep appreciation for the kind expressions of sympathy extended them during their bereavement. THE OBITUARY MR. ULYSSES STEPHEN JARVIS, SR., son of the late Peter and Mary Caroline Jarvis, was bom November 5, 1905 in Orangeburg. He was called home to Eternal Rest on Monday evening, August 19, 1991 follow ing a brief illness while a patient at The Regional Medical Center of Orangeburg and Calhoun Counties. Mr. Jarvis joined Trinity United Methodist Church at an early age and remained a faithful member until his death. He was united in marriage to the former Anna Eliza Gadsden of Waiterboro, South Carolina in 1928. To this union there were six children, five sons and one daughter. Mr. Jarvis attended the City Schools of Orangeburg. He was a master carpenter. He retired from Buildings and Grounds Department of South Carolina State College in 1971. Mr. Jarvis leaves to mourn his passing his wife of 63 years, Mrs. Anna G. Jarvis; five sons, Ulysses Stephen, Jr., Reginald Allen, Donald Daniel, Anthony Leveme, Rogers Gadsden; one daughter, Ms. Priscilla Loretta; five daughters-in-law, Mrs. Dorothy P. Jarvis, Mrs. Sadie D. Jarvis, Mrs. Miriam B. Jarvis and Mrs. Albertha B. Jarvis; eight grandchildren, five great grand children; one sister, Mrs. Blanche J. Hartwell of Orangeburg; one brotherin-law, Isiah Gadsden of Hempstead, NY; four nieces, Mrs. Marie Adams of Detroit, Michigan, Mrs. Jessie Mae Malachi of Bennettsville, SC, Mrs. Rena Guest and Mrs. Miriam Johnson of Orangeburg, SC; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
