But start out bravely with a gallant smile: And for my sake and in my name Live and do all things the same. Feed not your loneliness on empty days, But fill each waking hour in useful ways. Reach out your hands in comfort and in cheer And I in turn will comfort you and holdyou near. And never, never be afraid to die, For I am waiting for you in the sky. PARK MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH 144 Douglas Drive Beech Island, South Carolina Reverend Daviad Michem, Pastor - Presidin Reverend Kenneth Allen - Officiating QKe) Qkilm/ty) I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. 2 Timothy 4: 7-8 QtMMfhd ^llw) was born on October 17, 1951, in Augusta, Georgia to Dosye and Dorothy Allen. She was the oldest of five children. Earnestine grew up in Augusta and attended the Richmond County Public School System. She went on to graduate with a nursing degree from Augusta College (now Augusta University). Earnestine met Walter Donald Ivey in the Fall of 1956, when both families were next-door neighbors. As a result of constant fellowship throughout the years, they were married in 1970, and to this union, two sons and one daughter were born. Earnestine was fortunate to obtain employment working as a private duty nurse for over twenty years. Her hard work and dedication allowed her to seize numerous assignments until her retirement. After enjoying what she thought was retirement for a few years, she and her husband relocated to Atlanta, Georgia to care for an ill aunt. Earnestine accepted Christ at an early age. She was baptized in a creek at St. Mary Baptist Church. In fact, this was the home church of her mother in Allendale County, South Carolina. She later became a member of the Park Missionary Baptist Church. Earnestine was a classy, sweet lady that walked with confidence and grace. She always spoke with the intent of impacting lives. She touched many lives as everyones aunt, grandmother, mother, sister and friend. She showed that if you love unconditionally, you and your life partner will be the better for the love shown. She loved her life partner unconditionally. Earnestine was preceded in death by her father, Dosye Allen. Though Earnestine Allen Ivey will be missed, her legacy will live on in her family as well as the many lives she touched. She is survived by: her husband, Walter Donald Ivey; sons, Pablo (Ashley) Keys of Orangeburg, SC and Walter D. Ivey of Augusta, GA; one daughter, Nina (Moses) Ishokir of Augusta, GA; devoted mother, Dorothy Allen; loving sister, Brenda (Reginald) Bethea; three brothers, Benjamin Allen, Larry (Karlene) Allen and Dosye (Yolanda) Allen, all of Augusta, GA; sister-in-law, Annie (William) Allen of Augusta, GA; brother-in-law, John (Carlis) Ivey of Augusta, GA; seven grandchildren, Edward, Little Dosye, Little Fred, Zena (Keyon) Edge, Savannah, Hannah and Ivan; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. I know you have not heard me say: I love you, as often as I should have through the years. Yes, I really love you. I say this not because you have always given me love. Yes, I really love you. I say this not because you have always been therefor me. Yes, I really love you. I say this not because I could not have asked for a better sister. I love you; I really love you. 1 really love you because watching you; You taught me about caring. You taught me that if you love someone, You will care for that person. You and Don, from the outside looking in, Look like a mismatch; But from the inside looking out, You taught me there is no such thing as a mismatch. And if you love unconditionally, You and your life partner will be the better for the love shared. For this lesson in love to me, I am forever grateful. I love you. I really love you ...
